For A groove / 4L belts, the top width should be about 1/2 inch, and for B groove / 5L belts, it should be around 5/8 inch. Use a ruler to measure the width of the belt at the outer / wider edge. Use a flexible tape measure to determine the outer circumference by measuring around the belt in a circle if the belt is still whole.
