Hardcover, over 500 full color illustrations by 130 artists, between the 14th and 20th centuries. The pictures in the listing can't really capture the experience of seeing the paintings, and descriptions in the book. Unlike photographs, each painting tells a story based on the imagination and talents of the artists. Heavy on religious themes, the art generally evolved into more abstract styles as time progresses. The book is in remarkable condition, for all practical purposes, like fresh. ©️ 1997, 399 pages.
