These Plants from my Garden - Orchid-prefer Blooms on Tall Sword-like Leaves.
The iris leaves withstand any powerful winds and downpours, do not lodge or break. The structure of the rosettes helps it maintain the shape of the bush: the older leaves serve as a support for the younger ones, and the bases of the leaves are folded into one another. In addition, the leaves have a thick waxy coating on the dense epidermis.
Japanese yellow Iris is rhizome perennial that forms a spectacular bush in the first year of planting. The iris blooms in May-June for about two to three weeks with yellow moth flowers.
These plants grows on any soil, including submerged 30-40 cm in water. It blooms in water and on land alike. Of course, this iris is recommended for planting in the coastal area of the reservoir, on the banks of a stream or any shallow water. However, on sandy soils and poor areas, it adapts and grows.
