Opal from Zimapán, Hidalgo State, Mexico.This opal is hydrophane meaning the color will alter when it’s dry versus saturated. Comes with dome display jar. 1.1” Tall x 0.86” Opal weight 22 CaratsUntreated 100% Natural. This opal is made up of vesicular basalt impregnated with play-of-color opal. It can also be found in filled cracks and seams throughout the opal. Found in only 2 other locations 1 in Southern California and the other in Nevada. According to GIA it only comes from Zimapán which is outdated information.
